Delaware Court Green-lights A Defamation Suit Against Genocide Prevention in Ethiopia Inc

As we reported here, an entity named Genocide Prevention in Ethiopia, whose officers are not publicly known, was sued in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.

The lawsuit identified two individuals in the original complaint, and the plaintiff appears to have voluntarily dismissed one of them—according to Judge Richard G. Andrews of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. The lawsuit also includes at least 20 Doe Defendants.

Defendants sought to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds that the Court lacks personal jurisdiction over Senay and the Complaint fails to state a defamation claim. The court denied their motion to dismiss. Instead, the court allowed the parties to conduct limited jurisdictional discovery.
